Ability to select Stats in a category on a per character basisSuggestions & Feedback • 4 months ago by jotunheimr
I'm running a Dresden Files Accelerated campaign and one thing I can't have Chronica handle is Conditions.
The problem I'm encountering is that through all characters in a game, Conditions can be bought by any character. They work like Attributes in D&D or Pathfinder in that they don't really change (Strength is a numerical value between 3 and 20, or in Dresden Files' case, Third Eye is a condition that has 1 checkbox maximum), but mapping them to Stats in Chronica is problematic because now, all characters have all conditions...
Would it be possible to have some sort of setting that allows us to select what Stats a given character should display on it's sheet?
Use the new character templates feature! I brought up a very similar feature request in the past and it sounds like the solution you need.
The button looks like this under the admin panel:
Then once you've set up the templates you'll need, you'll either edit a character in your codex or create a new character, and select which template to use from the dropdown under Game Master Settings.
Right, my issue though is that every single character/NPC would need it's own template (unless I'm missing some functionality of templates?).
I guess it's not that bad to be honest, just would be a little nice to have, but yeah, templates will do in the meantime :)
Maybe this should instead be a question of abilities? You could create your abilities list and then add them to characters as necessary. They don't have the same functionality as stats though; maybe more customization to abilities would be a better solution.
Abilities can't have different numerical values on a per character basis...
Anyway, I'm surviving with your Stat Template idea. It's a bit bothersome and I really do hope an update allows me a painless Fate Accelerated campaign, but in the meantime the rest of the features are so awesome that I'm willing to deal with Templates.
